We opened a general store because of the needs of the community, both temporary and permanent, for a quality shopping experience offering a variety of carefully curated crafts, gifts, homewares, and clothing. In our years here we have become familiar with the ethos of the community and are enthusiastic and optimistic about its prospects. Roxbury General, we hope, adds to the charm, fun, and function of the area.
Our background in publishing (Doug in technology, Robin in content management) has no direct correlation to what we are undertaking with Roxbury General, but our store is informed by our love of the area, our travels here and abroad, and our family, friends, and community ties.
