This is a beautiful, small decorative bowl that that is inspired by Southwestern forms and motifs using black painted designs over white mica clay. This heirloom quality art object stands 4" tall x 5-3/4" deep.
Working in NY, but inspired by Southwestern pottery, Bonnie Hanna is a master ceramicist with a love of geometric patterns and elemental shapes. She hand-throws her pieces, often using mica clay, and painstakingly free-hand paints her own unique designs. Applying straight lines to curved surfaces, the designs expand and contract with the shape of the vessel. Bonnie uses traditional hand finishing and burnishing techniques, rather than glazes, to complete her pieces. Each piece is as unique as it is stunning.
